Large Ensembles by Vanessa McClintock

Full on music for the concert hall
Chamber to extended orchestras, symphonic winds, and full-sized jazz band
Includes the crown jewel of the catalogue, "August Requiem"

Music composed for orchestra, chamber orchestra, symphonic winds (orchestra minus strings), mixed instrumentations and styles.

When the composer founded and conducted the "Summer Chamber Orchestra" toward the end of the 20th century she developed a fondness for the smaller orchestra settings. Many of her works reflect this affinity.

This broad category of the catalog includes works from commissions in the Sacramento, California area, including venues such as mixed jazz and orchestral ensembles and ensembles used beyond and outside of their typical associations.
